For the seventh year in a row the victorious Dark Blues won the Varsity Match, and they also won the B team match which hasn’t been lost by Oxford since it was created in 1996. Once again Oxford was victorious. OUDT started the day with winning the Team Knockout and ended it with the A Team winning the Team Match after a tight battle with Cambridge and Imperial College. The B Team placed second in their event and the C Team and D Team won their events. In the Open events, Sugarta Kaviraj and Alice Pocklington won the Advanced Ballroom. SheffieldOxford came back hitting hard. The A Team won their division as did the C Team. The B Team and D Team placed second. Oxford also won the Team Knockout. Oxford had couples in the finals of all the Open events. Special mention goes to Chong Chao (Will) and Sarah Ward-Jones, who won the Intermediate Tango, Ian Watson and Camilla Sen, who won the Ex-student quickstep, Nick Faull and Sarah McGinley, who won the Ex-student jive. Congratulations also go to Matt Treece and Katie, who won the Beginners waltz and the Beginners quickstep, and to Jerome Clarisse and Eliza Eagling, who won the Beginners cha and the Beginners jive. The Beginners Team produced some fantastic results at the Nottingham Intervarsity Competition. Oxford couples won the Beginners Quickstep, Cha, and Jive. Notable results: Matt Treece and Katie won Best Overall Beginners. In the open events, Jason Holland and Jocelyn Paulley won Most Promising Couple. Despite some very stiff competition from Cambridge and Imperial College, the Oxford A, B, and C Teams each placed second in their respective divisions and the D Team won their event. Warwick
OUDT has continued its long winning streak at Warwick. The A, B, and C teams all made the Team Final, and the A Team handily won the event. For the last four years, Oxford has ranked first for Teams A through E. This year was no exception. In the Open rounds, Oxford took the floor by storm; the Novice Ballroom and Latin were won by Oxford couples, as were the Advanced Ballroom, by Sugata Kaviraj and Alice Pocklington and the Latin by Pippa Underwood and Matthew Jones. Notable results: Alex Robinson and Erin Lane won Best Overall Beginners Couple. The F Team won the Division Two Final.
